Pause-itivity: The power of the pause.
Nature never rushes, and yet everything gets done.
We see it in the trees, the tides, the shifting of light across the sky. There are seasons of full bloom and wild growth—but just as vital are the seasons of rest. Dormancy. The pause.
And yet, as women—especially those of us who have spent decades caring for others, holding the household together, showing up no matter what—we’ve often been taught that rest is indulgent. That slowing down is lazy. That unless we’re doing, we’re somehow falling behind.
But here’s the truth no one told us:
You are a cyclical being. You were never meant to bloom all year round.
We’ve been raised in a culture that celebrates hustle and productivity. “Busy” has become a badge of honour. But your soul doesn’t thrive in constant motion. Your body doesn’t either.
You are not linear. You are not a machine.
You are more like the moon: sometimes full and bright, sometimes dark and invisible, and always… changing. You are more like the seasons: blooming in spring, glowing in summer, shedding in autumn, and stilling in winter.
Every phase has its purpose.
And yet, most of us resist the sacred pause.
When life feels foggy, when energy dips, when you find yourself asking, What do I even want anymore?—that’s not failure. That’s your invitation to pause.
To come back to your breath.
To retreat inward and listen to the whisper beneath the noise.
To be with yourself without needing to perform, fix, or achieve.
Because here’s the secret:
The pause is not empty. It’s full of wisdom.
It’s where your clarity comes from. Your alignment. Your creativity. It’s the space where old stories unravel and new ones begin to form. And it’s deeply sacred.
So many women I coach come to me with the same quiet ache: I’ve lost myself.
Not because they weren’t strong or capable—but because they were always on. Always giving, doing, proving.
And yet, when they begin to honour their natural rhythms—when they stop pushing through the winter and start listening—they begin to remember who they are.
What if you didn’t have to be “on” all the time?
What if rest was just as productive as action?
What if your pause is preparing the soil for your next becoming?
This blog isn’t here to tell you to quit your life and move to the mountains (though, if that calls you—why not?).
It’s here to offer you permission. To remind you that:
It’s okay to need rest.
It’s okay to not know what’s next.
It’s okay to slow down and not have all the answers.
Because the answers?
They often don’t arrive when you’re rushing. They arrive when you’re quiet enough to hear them.
What season am I in right now—internally?
Am I trying to bloom when I really need to rest?
What would it feel like to honour the pause instead of resisting it?
What wisdom might be waiting for me in the stillness?
Reclaiming your rhythm isn’t rebellion—it’s healing. It’s how you begin to live from your centre again instead of constantly chasing life around you.
So breathe.
Let the seasons guide you.
And trust: the pause is not the end of your story.
It’s the place where the next chapter begins.
